Brief Overview
The Continued War in Donbass is an armed conflict in the Donbass region of Ukraine which originally ended in 2027 however restarted after Russia broke the ceasefire of 2028 from the Mariupol Convention. Restarting on June 14th, 2033 protests by pro-Russian and anti-government groups took place in the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts of the Ukraine, together commonly called the "Donbass", in the aftermaths of a long and heated ceasefire where both sides stood armed and ready. These demonstrations, which followed the annexation of Georgia and Turkey after a short battle known as the "1 Month War" which took place mostly on land and on sea. The situation at first started out with riots and protests however escalated into an armed conflict between the separatist forces of the self-declared Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republic, and the Ukrainian government. In the Donetsk People's Republic, from September 8th until a change of the top leadership in early June, most of the top leaders were Russian citizens. During the middle of 2034, Russian ex military were reported to make up between 50% to 80% of combatants in the region. There were an estimated 4,300 Russian troops and 40,000 rebels in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine as of October 3. Although conflict had already induced in the Donbass region, war did not officially start until forces of the Russian Federation illegally trespassed into the area past Ukraine borders as humanitarian forces to help Russian speaking citizens. The war officially began on October 21 after a firefight where Russian troops traded fire with Ukrainian troops, reported by the Ukrainian government after facing military specialists and an organized military group. These reports also followed recent shelling in across the border from Russia and into key locations of Ukraine where troops had been stationed.

In the summer time of 2033, the Donbass region would declare itself as a separate state and swear allegiance to the republic. By August 10th, the region would be under control by separatist forces, having taken control of key locations such as Donetsk International Airport. Fighting commenced throughout the entire area, causing destruction throughout significant infrastructural zones. During the time, around 5-30 soldiers would be killed each day, with around 30-50 thousand civilians being displaced from the fighting. Along with this, around 1-3 thousand Ukrainian civilians were thought to have been killed by the pro-Russian militants that occupied the area before Ukrainian forces regained most of the zone. In 2035, the Donbass region was officially declared that it was still part of Ukraine, and the area was put under heavy government action.
